Steve Merckx is a well-known photographer and works for events, takes wedding photographs, photographs models, etc. For some time his studio has also been located in a De Backer house.

We asked Steve Merckx and Wendy Van Laere, after they had moved into their new house, why they had chosen a De Backer solid timber house.

- the architectural style, we wanted 'Long Island' style and that's exactly what we got

- oneness with nature (the terraces are also in wood)

- our clients are welcomed in the mezzanine, a special setting with a view of the scenery

- my own clients are extremely enthusiastic about the house and this creates an even better

relationship with the client and gives our firm more appeal

- every evening when we come home it is as if we are on holiday,

  which creates a sense of inner peace
