Construction from A to Z Back

The spirit of the times demands rapid and solid construction. Timber houses can be erected in record time. Little more than three weeks pass between laying the first plank and locking the front door (weathertight).

First of all everything is discussed, right down to the last detail. Then a team of draughtsmen work out the design. The plans drawn up on the computer make it possible to deliver a house that is tailor-made: your house is well thought out and reflects your personality.

You receive a quote based on the discussions and the computer plan that is drawn up. This quote is also the final delivery price, so there are no unpleasant surprises.

Preparing for the work occurs in our own workshops: sorting, sawing, planing, machining and dividing up all take place using our own, ultramodern machinery. The CNC-controlled machines use designs produced on the computer.

During construction the greatest attention is paid to a perfect finish.

  • A stoneplinth course is laid on the hollow-core slabs in order to be able to build perfectly straight wooden walls.
  • De Backer has developped a wall beam section that is unique in timber construction (double or treble mortise).
  • The wall beams are available in four thicknesses, all of which can be combined with an exterior wall in facing brick or an insulated exterior wall.
  • Holes are drilled in the wall beams in which the electricity cables can be concealed.
  • Houses with facing bricks have windows and doors that protrude so that they fit snugly behind these bricks.
  • The luxury dovetail joint avoids the use of incovenient, protruding joining pieces so that a flat wall can be obtained.
  • The timber joists don't have angled joints but are connected blind.
  • The roof is provided with a sturdy subroof.

All constructions from De Backer have technical approval (nr. ATG 1723), both the houses with and the houses without an outer wall in facing brick. As a result you avoid any problems with regard to acquiring building permission. It is also an extra guarantee of the quality of the house. In addition, De Backer's construction method and planning mean that everything goes extremely smoothly, so that you save both time and money!
