Lotus

De Backer builds a new model weekend house on site at Langestraat 19 in Zandhoven.
The 'Lotus' model complies with the legal restrictions of 80m2 surface area and 240m3 volume and makes maximum use of this.
There are also a number of other designs available for this kind of house and you can also submit a design yourself, of course.

Weekend houses are subject to the same legislation as houses on permanent construction plots. They have to have sufficient ventilation, must be well insulated and have an energy level of maximum 100 points.

Our weekend houses are built with an insulated exterior wall and there are three alternatives available for this:

1•insulation and wooden cladding on the outside of the exterior wall
For this model house we have opted for greying, thermal, wooden cladding planks. But there are also lots of other possible options, such as sidings and other cladding material. Different kinds of windows and exterior doors are also possible. In this version the white windows and doors will stand out nicely against the exterior walls as the wood greys.
2•insulation and wooden cladding on the inside of the exterior wall
The solid wood ‘block house’ look is retained inside and out.
3•insulation and facing brick.

The wood is always insulated with rock wool that is minimum 20 cm thick and the floor has 6 cm of PU insulation under the screed.
