From 'Passe-Partout'
If there is one thing in the house about which we are careless when it comes to security, it's the summer house in the garden. And wrongly so.
The summer house is often to be found right at the bottom of the garden. When the house is being built and money is flying out of the door, it's used to put grandpa's old lawnmower in. The thing doesn't work properly but it saves having to buy a new one. In addition to this there is a whole range of forks, rakes, spades and other garden tools.
Then the time comes when things are easier financially, the garden grows and better tools are required. Grandpa's old lawnmower goes to the tip and is replaced with a sophisticated machine that does almost everything automatically and costs a fortune. And the other garden tools are also replaced and updated.
Budget? A few thousand Euros, easily. Do you put all that in a garden shed that is an open invitation to people with less than honourable intentions?
No, you dont. Which is why you should take the appropriate security measures. And why you should inform your insurance agent that you have such a summer house.
